Among the nominees, Canadian rapper Drake racked up seven nods, followed by GloRilla with six, 21 Savage and Lizzo with five, Beyoncé, Burna Boy, Chris Brown, Ice Spice, and SZA with four, and SZA with six. After skipping last year, the Viewer’s Choice Award was reinstated. On June 15, they began announcing the first group of artists.

2023 BET Awards hosts and performers

House of BET is a four-day event in Los Angeles beginning on Thursday, June 22, and continuing through Sunday, June 25, which is tied in with the BET Awards. On June 16, it was reported that Bow Wow would serve as the main host of House of BET.

 

Taraji P. Henson served as the event’s host in the years 2021 and 2022 before she stepped down. In the year 2020, Amanda Seales served as the leader.

 

On Sunday, not only will the winners perform, but other nominees such as JaRule and GloRilla will be performing. According to a press release issued by BET on June 15, other performers will be added soon after Chief Keef, DJ Unk, E-40, Fast Life Yungstaz & Easton (F.L.Y.), Fat Joe, Soulja Boy, The Sugarhill Gang, Tyga, Ying Yang Twins, and Yo-Yo are already scheduled to take the stage.
