BLANC TO OPEN FOURTH CONCEPT STORE AT TELEVISION CENTRE IN WHITE CITY, LONDON

Award-winning natural dry cleaner opening 1st February 2019

LONDON, United Kingdom Good news for the residents of White City and its area who wish to preserve their health, the environment, and the life of their clothes: they now have a sustainable alternative to conventional dry cleaning. In just over a month on Friday 1st February, BLANC will open its fourth store in the iconic Helios building at Television Centre, the former home of the BBC in White City, London (a 3 minute walk from Westfields).

While other dry cleaners still use the toxic and carcinogenic chemical PERC (Perchloroethylene), already banned in many countries, BLANC instead combines modern wet cleaning technology with gentle biodegradable detergents and artisan hand treatment. This results in a softer, fresher finish, perfect for delicate fabrics such as cashmere and silks, though BLANC do clean almost anything with a dry clean label. BLANC also stocks natural home cleaning products so you can take “cleaner” cleaning back home, too.

After a three-year transformation, Television Centre has reopened as a mixed-use development. It is at the heart of a £8 billion ten-year regeneration of the wider White City area, which has formed a new hub of activity, creativity and academia in west London. A thriving neighbourhood which welcomes the arrival of new shops, restaurants and educational facilities, White City is becoming an exciting and dynamic destination well beyond the shopping galore of Westfields London.

BLANC’s established stores in Notting Hill, Marylebone & Chelsea have proven popular with locals, with their relaxing boutique feel, expert advice on both professional fabric care and biodegradable home cleaning products, and clean living home essentials. Their growing delivery business is also increasingly popular with individuals and businesses alike. This combination has made BLANC a favourite of titles such as Vogue, Elle, Vanity Fair, the Business of Fashion or the Evening Standard, as well as many designer fashion brands who partner with BLANC exclusively for all their cleaning and tailoring needs. Many customers have come to BLANC just to experience the higher quality clean and service, and then become dedicated converts to natural cleaning once they discover the difference.

“Most people, unless they have sensitive skin, don’t realise how harmful the dry cleaning process is,” explains BLANC co-founder Mathilde Blanc. “So it’s been wonderfully rewarding to be able to introduce people to a healthier way to clean for themselves and their family, a way that’s kinder to our planet – and simultaneously show them how much softer and fresher their clothes come back. We care passionately about quality, nature and health and it’s been amazing to see how many other people share our values and are helping us spread the word.”

Customers’ response to BLANC’s mission has been overwhelming and so BLANC has been growing extremely quickly over the past few years. BLANC has recently tripled the number of Home & Business collection & delivery slots they serve in Central London, and will do so again soon. The dry cleaning and laundry collection and delivery areas now span across London from Chiswick to Islington. Slots can be booked online, on the phone, via email or via messaging. BLANC also offers the opportunity to set up a regular delivery slot, to be as convenient as possible.

“We think that businesses that think only in terms of either ‘online’ or ‘offline’ haven’t got it quite right,” BLANC CEO and Founder Ludovic says. “It really is about being at the crossroads of the two, about providing the convenient tech and also the human touch. We are trying to approach both our digital and retail expansion in a very lean and deliberate manner. We test, we learn, we launch, we start again.”
