Winner of 16 World Darts Championships becomes brand ambassador for Omnia Mind
Taylor is the greatest player ever to throw a dart and has won 214 professional tournaments, making him the most successful darts player in history. BBC rated him amongst the ten greatest British sportsmen of the last 35 years.
Omnia Mind is on a mission to help organisations improve their employees’ mental well-being and help them thrive at work. The founder Phil Quirk said: “I do not think there is a better example of resilience than Phil Taylor’s domination of darts, and it is improbable his achievements will ever be surpassed.”
Over 300,000 people leave their employment each year due to mental illness in the UK. “If my promotion of these guys [Omnia Mind] can help reduce the number of people that have to leave work because of well-being issues, then I will be a happy man,” said Taylor.
The team at Omnia Mind believes that employers need to put resilience training at the heart of their development strategies.
Mick Murphy, Director of Operations, commented: “Although we provide Mental Health First Aid training, we would rather teach people the tools and techniques that make its requirement redundant.”
Taylor and the Omnia Mind team have produced a podcast (The Power Podcast). It features celebrities such as boxing legend Ricky Hatton and aims to increase mental health awareness. Its release will be in early 2022.
