North West Recruitment Firm Reports Huge Growth Over 12 Months

Specialist recruitment agency Taylor Higson has reported an incredible growth of one million pounds in its last twelve months, expanding from a single person company to employing 12 staff full time.

Positioned as a recruitment firm built by recruiters for recruitment agents, Taylor Higson is the brainchild of Jonathan Taylor, a man with ten years of specialist recruitment experience in multiple industries.
Taylor Higson’s rapid growth can be attributed to a number of things, including a comprehensive digital marketing campaign, an excellent culture of staff development, and Jonathan’s ability to attract great recruiters to work with him.

The company began in 2013, when Jonathan approached business building firm Davidson Gray with a partnership proposition after deciding that being an independent solo recruiter wasn’t for him.
After a period of planning in early 2016, Jonathan told Rhys Jones of Davidson Gray he was ready to start building a serious recruitment business. Taylor Higson has since moved offices 3 times to accommodate the growth of the company. What started as a 2-person office has now become a brand new 30-person 2000sq ft. top floor suite in South Manchester.

Jonathan explains how the learning curve has been big but hugely rewarding. “I had no management experience when I set out to build this business but with Rhys’s mentoring and coaching I’m now building a multimillion pound business, pretty scary really.
In all honesty I started off just looking to build a print team as that’s primarily where my experience lies, but now we have HR, Manufacturing, Construction, Packaging, FMCG and Residential Development. It’s going to be interesting to see how the company grows during 2018/19”

Following these accomplishments, Jonathan believes in sharing the success with a long weekend in Las Vegas planned for the team in the New Year.

Jonathan explains “I believe in treating the staff like adults so there are no pointless KPIs and no call monitor. We combine a straight forward heavily incentivised commission structure, relaxed working hours and I believe in billing alongside the recruiters, so they work with me, not for me.

I’ve built a business that offers a range of options for good consultants who want to be standalone super billers or recruiters with aspirations of building their own division.

I also offer equity to those who want their own business, so they can achieve their goal from the comfort of working with me and Rhys. I said to Rhys I wanted to invest in the staff so they all have the best possible chance to become super billers and managers of the future, so he now comes in every week to coach and mentor not only me but importantly every member of the team”.

In terms of the on-going business strategy, Taylor Higson’s aim for 2018 is to build on its current foundation and winning culture to fill the new office by the year and have firm plans in place to open additional offices elsewhere in the UK in 2019.
