4 grooming tips every man should know
Taking care of yourself should be at the top of your priority list right now. It may mean taking some time away from your computer or going for a run but sometimes it can be as simple as taking care of your hair, face, and body. Unfortunately, many men are still finding it hard to pamper themselves or apply a simple daily grooming routine. We’ve put together seven tips that we think you should apply to your routine right now.
- Moisturise your skin every day
Just like women, men need to moisturise daily, it is not only important for your skin to look and feel healthy but also for slowing down the ageing process. If you don’t already know, there are four different skin types: dry, normal, combination and oily skin. They all come with the ups and downs, but they all require moisturising every day, yes even oily skin! The best way to do so is by washing your face with a cleanser after you shower and then applying your moisturiser straight after. It only takes five minutes but can really make a world of difference to your skin.
- Choose the right brush/comb
Brushing your hair may seem as easy as riding a bike but there are actually some rules behind it all. In fact, it all depends on your hair type and length, for example, a simple and yet portable comb is a great accessory for thin straight hair but not so great for afro-textured like hair. It’s also important to note that combs and brushes serve a different purpose, combing is great to remove any knots and tangles in your hair to make the brushing easier. By combing, you’ll be able to control your hair easier and therefore style it as you want it with pomades and clays.
- Take care of your beard
Many men choose to have a beard because it’s easy maintenance, meaning they don’t have to shave every day, women also seem to find men with a beard more attractive. However, it doesn’t mean you should completely forget about it and leave it completely unmaintained, there are many things you can do to your beard to significantly improve its appearance. Applying some beard oil and combing or brushing your beard can make a big difference as well as trimming it every so often to avoid it looking bushy.
- Treat your hair well
Try to avoid washing your hair every day, two to three times a week should be enough. Conditioning your hair is also a big step that most men fail to take. By adding this extra step you will make your hair stronger, healthier, and less likely to break while styling. Choose products that suit your hair and try to avoid all harsh chemicals often found in shampoos and conditioners such as Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS) or Parabens.
