What is SIRS
SIRS is the acronym for Skills Immigration Registration System. It is a point-based system that checks the eligibility of the candidate in order to apply for the British Columbia provincial nomination program. It is a dynamic intake management system that allows BC PNP to prioritize candidates for a provincial nomination to the province. SIRS allows the immigration office to select the best workers to meet the labor market needs. Main categories under SIRS are as follows:
- Skills Immigration – Skilled Worker
- Skills Immigration – International Graduate
- Express Entry B.C – Skilled Worker
- Express Entry B.C – International Graduate
- Skills Immigration – Northeast Pilot Project
- Skills Immigration – Entry level and Semi-Skilled
Factors that affect your SIRS Score
Following are the key economic factors that affect the SIRS score:
- Skill level of Job the candidate is currently working in. National Occupation Classification (NOC) helps the immigration office to prioritize high-demand occupations.
- The annual wage that is being offered to the candidate.
- Job location

Once a candidate is able to get a provincial nomination, they are awarded 600 CRS additional points. These many points make sure that the candidate is able to get an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency visas to Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
