Elon Musk Introduces Neuralink, the New Chip In Human’s Brain

Elon Musk Introduces Neuralink, the New Chip In Human’s Brain

In 2016, American entrepreneur Elon Musk used Neuralink products for chips found in natural brains. With the help of his company, he is engaged in the treatment of serious diseases of the brain, but the ultimate goal is to achieve results in humans. To date, the company has very big trust issues – it is constantly accused of cruel treatment of animals, criticized for the likely ability to read other people’s minds, and so on. But Elon Musk does not give up, thanks to the fact that his company has already “chipped” a monkey and taught it to control thoughts with a computer. In May 2023, the company started to experiment on humans. Recently it became known that the Neuralink chip will be installed in the human brain before the end of the identified year and will help cure paralysis of the limbs. The operation is expected to be discovered live.

What are Neuralink Chips For?

Neuralink installs a chip in the human brain live

According to Reuters, the first “chipping” of a person was carried out in 2023 during a live broadcast, entrepreneur Elon Musk held the event at the VivaTech event in Paris. According to his appointment, the first person to receive Neuralink will be a patient with tetraplegia – paralysis of the limbs, due to the inability to walk. Elon Musk did not say in what month the operation will take place, where it will be possible to study the broadcast and the amount of time of the operation.

An interesting fact: Neuralink is included in our group for selecting the most controversial projects of Elon Musk. Recommended to visit with others!

Human Trials of Neuralink Chips

So far, Neuralink has implemented chips only in animals. Most likely, the operation was carried out by a robot surgeon. It first introduced a chip into the pig’s brain and led it to follow its brain activity. However, it is not known exactly how the Neuralink robot works. It is certainly possible that it works, doing everything automatically. But it most likely controls a person and simply assists the persone to make more precise movements. That’s what actually frightens the ethical world.

The decision to conduct human trials was received from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) only in May 2023. The regulator has previously refused to give green light, citing dozens of security issues. For example, experts feared the use of a lithium battery to power the chip, the possibility of losing the wires of the chip inside the brain and removing the chip without damaging the brain. Get your brain busy with sweet bonanza slot, where there is certainly no chipping, only fun!

Animal Cruelty Controversy

Sources of even greater problems have been reports that Elon Musk’s company is cruelly treating animals. For example, in December 2022, Neuralink employees told the Reuters news agency that management was rushing them, and this was leading to the death of a large number of monkeys, pigs and sheep. In 2021, for example, technicians implanted oversized chips into dozens of pigs, causing them to die. Staff surgeons noted that if not for the pawn, the deaths would have been avoided.

Apparently, in May 2023, the company still managed to convince the FDA that its technology is safe. In the article Neuralink is almost ready to implant chips in the human brain, from the company,  the chip is 2.3×0.8 mm in size and is attached to the outside of the skull and hidden under the skin. From it come 1024 electrodes thinner than human hair, which are attached directly to the brain. They read data about brain activity and send it by wire to a chip, which, using Bluetooth, transmits to a computer.

What Can We Expect?

It is expected that the Neuralink chip will allow people with neurological diseases to start a new life without restrictions. The technology can also help control hormones, thereby relieving people of anxiety and depression. Patients who have been “chipped” will be able to listen to music at frequencies that are usually inaccessible to us. And, of course, the brain-computer interface will allow people to control technology with the power of thought.

So, at the moment it is known that the first “chipping” of a person by Neuralink will be carried out in 2023. If it becomes known when and where the live broadcast will be shown, the news will certainly be on all media, as it would be a step forward in technology.

But it is important to understand that even after the successful installation of the chip, Neuralink technology will not become publicly available. It will take several years, if not decades, for the company to prove its safety and effectiveness. Therefore, we just have to be patient and look forward to a brighter future.
