Hometown Girl, Tanya Marchiol, brings PBR bulls to The 117th annual National Western Stock Show
Local, Tanya Marchiol, to bring championship bulls to National Western Stock
DENVER – There’s always plenty of fun awaiting visitors and participants at the annual National Western Stock Sale, from dances to parades to all sorts of livestock judging to the PBR and World Rodeo Finals.
This year, the NWSS runs from January 7th through the 22nd. One highlight will be the arrival of Colorado native, Tanya Marchiol, accompanied by bucking bulls for the Professional Bull Riders events.
Tanya is the owner of CIL Cattle Co., based in Elizabeth, Colo., a nearby ranch focusing on breeding and training these unique bulls. She’s also an author, entrepreneur, motivational speaker, and TV personality.
Marchiol bought her first bull in 2014, and today, the ranch has more than 30 bulls that range in age and size from yearlings to full-sized and fully-trained bulls that are ready for professional bull riders.
Many bulls from CIL Cattle Co. have already done well at other events, and the ranch is gaining a reputation for quality animals that continue to challenge professional bull riders.
For instance, three of her bulls were declared the Bull Team Winner at the 10th Annual Castle Rock Bull Riding and Bull Challenge in February 2022. The team earned 209.3 points, including bulls Let’s Go Brandon and Slingin’ BBs.
Another of the ranch’s bulls, Malki, was declared the highest-marked bull in last year’s team series, along with being the Round 4 Champion at the 2022 PBR World Finals. The 5-year-old’s first appearance was in January 2022.
The PBR Bull Riding event at the National Western Stock Sale takes place Monday, January 9th, followed by the PBR Bull Riding Team Penning Finals on Wednesday, January 11th. Both events at the Denver Coliseum begin at 7 p.m.
The Denver Chute Out Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour will present some of the country’s top professional bull riders trying to see how long they stay atop these bulls that weigh in at more than 2,000 pounds apiece. Professional bull riding aims to stay atop them for at least 8 seconds.
Visitors to the National Western Stock Sale who want to know more about professional bull riding before the finals can also attend “PBR 101” at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, January 10th. People involved in the exciting sport will share details of what it’s all about, including some interesting behind-the-scenes info. The workshop can be entertaining whether someone is familiar with professional bull riding or new to the world.
There will be professional bull riding and riders at several other National Western Stock Sale events and various rodeos.
About CIL Cattle Co.
The ranch focuses on breeding and training bucking bulls to help people enter the industry and learn more about these animals. The ranch staff, including Tanya Marchiol, focus on providing hands-on attention and a good feed program. They also are choosy in which bulls they bring in to ensure they’re effective in the five PBR-judged categories.
