List, Info, Photos: The Worst Cities for Expats in the World
Networking site InterNations has released its latest ranking of best and worst cities for expats, and Europe accounts for some of the best cities — and some of the worst.
InterNations surveyed nearly 12,000 expats in 181 countries between February 1 and February 28. The survey included expats who were foreign assignees, international employees, and people who moved to other countries in search of work.
The surveyIt was first conducted in 2014. The InterNations survey ranked 52 countries around the globe this year. They were evaluated on their overall livability, quality of life, ease in settling in, working abroad and personal finances.
Valencia, a port city located in Spain, was voted top city for expats. InterNations found that expats were most impressed by the accessibility of public transport and the safety of living in the city.
Six of the 10 lowest-ranked European cities were, however. There were also two Asian cities: one in North America and another in Africa.
