Dance music legends have remixed The Crown’s iconic theme tune
The Crown’s iconic theme tune has been remixed by dance music legends Faithless.
Hans Zimmer, Academy Award winner, wrote the theme. It has been widely praised and is synonymous with the critically-acclaimed drama.
Netflix called on Faithless, a dance music band, to help transform The Crown’s classic piece as it moves into the 1990s.
The Crown Main Theme (Faithless Remix) is a three-minute musical journey that takes you back to the sounds of the 90s.
Faithless’ Sister Bliss said: “I could hear in my head how this mix could work around Hans Zimmer’s iconic and dramatic strings.
“I dug into the vaults to find lots of sounds, samples and other materials that we actually had in the 1990s when I was making our albums.
“I thought ‘these are genuinely good’, so I loaded them up for this remix of Hans Zimmer’s score.
“We wanted this to be unapologetically Faithless and use some of the very original sounds that myself and Rollo made together.”
The track debuted on Radio 2’s Zoe Ball Breakfast Show this morning, and an accompanying video to the track has been released.
