I’m not a ‘Extreme” like some on the Republican Side’ Are.

• AOC stated that she doesn’t consider herself to be as extreme as GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene. 
• CNN’s Rep. Ocasio-Cortez stated that her beliefs were not the same extreme as Rep. Greene’s.
• Both Rep. Ocasio-Cortez, and Rep. Greene won easily their elections on Tuesday. 

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said she doesn’t see Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene as her GOP twin — and rejected the comparison. 

AOC made these comments in an interview with Chris Wallace, CNN’s executive producer. A clip of the interview was also included in CNN’s coverageSaturday 

The clip began with Wallace asking AOC whether voters want “both sides to move from fringes to the extremes back towards the center.” On Tuesday, the New York Democrat won reelection easily. over 70%The vote. 

AOC stated, “I think that a lot people in this nation may say yes. But it’s important that we dig into the substance and what that actually means.” “As someone who is often referred to as extreme, I believe that I would object to this. I don’t think I am as extreme as Marjorie Taylor Greene from the Republican side.

The progressive said: “The idea of believing in someone who believes there is guaranteed universal health insurance in the United States with someone who believes undocumented people shouldn’t be subject to physical harm is something that I would object.”

Insider asked Greene for comment, but a spokesperson did not respond immediately. 

Greene is one of many conservatives who has been a part of the Greene movement. previously peddledThe racist “Great Replacement” theoryAt GOP campaign rallies, it was a core belief of white nationalists. 

Greene also has a long-antigonized AOC. In one instance following herShe screamed at her and walked down the halls of Congress. In another instance, she called AOC an “little communist”, and demanded that she be taken to jail.
