Hundred House by HCT Homes and Bramham Properties: Where Luxury Meets History

Comprising 4 remarkable mews townhouses, a barn conversation and 11 exquisite apartments, Hundred House is a unique lifestyle development in Great Witley, Worcester.

Worcestershire’s Malvern Hills, located in the village of Great Witley, is home to Hundred House, a magnificent Grade II listed building steeped in history. Hundred House is a state-of-the-art development featuring 16 residential units, with more than half already sold. A collaboration between HCT Homes and Bramham Properties, the property developers have created modern-day luxurious homes, paying meticulous attention to detail whilst honouring the building’s historic charm.

The careful restoration of Hundred House began in 2018 and it was ensured that a great number of period features were maintained and restored to retain the history behind the building. There were initially a host of planning issues due to the building being Grade II listed, however, the developers overcame these with perseverance and years of experience, producing a property they are proud to put on the market. Now, Hundred House features 4 spectacular townhouses, 11 luxury apartments, as well as a beautiful barn conversation with a private garden. The plot also boasts access to a private gym, secure entrance gates and a perfectly landscaped courtyard. Each unit has 2 specially allocated parking spaces, with the townhouses featuring double garages.

Hundred House was built in the 18th century by Lord Foley, the owner of Witley Court, with the previous Inn having been mentioned as far back as 1653 in the parish register. The name “Hundred House” originates centuries ago, back to when the inn was a collecting house for the tithes gathered from Doddingtree Hundred districts. This covered around 40 villages in the Northwest of the country. With original bricks restored and used in production, the historic charm is perfectly captured throughout all properties.

Acting as the hub of social activity, ancient hostelries were of particular importance in the country and the setting where dances, meetings and sporting events would take place. Indicated on milestones and signposts in the area, Hundred House was recognised as one of the most popular hotels in the country, serving a vast region between the River Teme and River Severn.
An integral component of its surrounding community, Hundred House was a venue hosting weddings, family functions and social gatherings, thus many locals have sentimental memories.
Further adding to its history, Hundred House also housed cell accommodation and a court room from 1790 to 1872, as the location of county justice. The Great Witley and District Farmers Club was formed in 1890 and their fortnightly meetings were held at Hundred House. The area – which is now a car park – used to hold stock sales, along with an adjoining paddock.
To retain the history of this development, HCT Homes and Bramham Properties will restore the Inn, bringing Henry’s bar to life, providing locals with a hub for social gatherings. The bar will also serve residential homes with private dining facilities.
All units feature SMEG appliances, including oven, hob, microwave, dish washer and washer dryer, along with immaculate finishes and details on every element. HCT Homes and Bramham Properties also pride themselves in environmental consideration, ensuring all developments are as responsibly sourced and energy efficient as possible.
Still a notable landmark in the community, Hundred House is a majestic development full of history, preserving past historical wonders with modern, exquisite features of the future.
