New Study Looks At Keto Benefits
A new study has revealed that a high fat, low carb diet, can help you improve your cardiovascular health and lose weight.
The study, which was done by KGK Science, examined a popular version of the keto diet, entitled ‘Nic’s Keto Diet’.
It monitored 140 participants for 140 days, with those who stuck to the plan noticing weight loss, a reduction in body fat percentage and lower blood sugar levels.
This diet involves a moderate amount of protein, is low in carbs and has a higher amount of fat in your daily meals than other diets of its type.
The diet is named after Nicolas Tzenios.
Mr Tzenios is known for his work as a fellow of The Royal Society for Public Health. He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, a member of the American Academy of Regenerative Medicine, and a Postgraduate student at Harvard.
The website for Nic’s Keto Diet states that “this way of eating helps your body switch from using sugar (carbs) as a main fuel source to using fat and ketones for energy needs.”
Mr Tzenios previously discussed the diet and his interest in greater public health.
In 2018, he said: “I see my mission as having two parts. The first is a technical challenge: showing people how to lose weight and become healthier and happier. The second part is the adaptive challenge of changing mentalities.”
Of course, it is recommended that you consult a trained dietician or medical expert before commencing any new diets.
