Chronoexpert selected to be part of the Google for Startups Growth Academy

The Bilbao luxury watch startup has been selected to be part of the technology giant’s initiative to promote new companies Google blog

Google, the technology giant, is betting on Chronoexpert by selecting it as one of the participants in its Google for Startups Growth Academy E-Commerce program. The main goal of this initiative is to help companies expand their services in other parts of the world through the tools that Google offers. Among the selected companies is Chronoexpert, an online marketplace in the luxury goods industry based in Bilbao.

Chronoexpert was brought to life in 2017 by Pablo Martín, focusing on the area of watchmaking with the aim of leading the transformation of the second-hand luxury market. Its service is based on three fundamental pillars: guaranteed authenticity, digitalization and impeccable customer service.

The company has the support of KFund, a technology-based venture capital fund based in Spain, and prestigious business angels. Its geographical diversification—it currently operates in 13 countries—has allowed it to experience strong growth in its turnover over the last two years and thus overcome the current situation.

All of this is possible thanks to the leadership of Pablo Martín and Fernando Alfaro together with a motivated, efficient and dynamic team that has not stopped growing both in the customer success team, as well as in marketing and product. Currently, Chronoexpert has a staff of 10 workers and starts 2021 with the aim of doubling its current staff.

Pablo Martín, CEO of Chronoexpert, explains what characterizes the company: “Despite being a completely digital business, we are aware of the industry in which we operate and we do not neglect direct customer interaction. Our goal is to accelerate our growth while maintaining the same level of customer focus, and Google is the best partner to accompany us in this phase.”

Apart from offering a professional and specialized service to their clients, they work with the aim of being a benchmark in the dissemination of content regarding the watchmaking sector and slow luxury through social networks and their own specialized magazine.

The advantages of a startup being part of Google Campus are endless. Chronoexpert will not only receive training in digital tools, but will also receive support from experts in different areas for the development of new ideas. In addition, this constitutes another opportunity to establish a strong network of contacts among the rest of the selected companies. Google helps develop numerous projects for many startups, boasting a presence in more than 135 countries.

In addition to personalized mentoring, the company will be able to acquire in-depth knowledge of the tools offered by Google and their effective application to the marketplace.

Undoubtedly, Google for Startups Accelerator will allow the Bilbao startup to acquire all the necessary knowledge to develop and improve the digitization of its services, with the aim of continuing with the process of internationalization and growth.
