Roberts & Roberts Law Firm Announces New Measures to Offer Safe Rides Home to Prevent Drunk Driving
This Monday, Roberts & Roberts law firm will begin it’s annual “The Ride is on Us” campaign to prevent drunk driving during this Christmas and New Year’s holiday season. Roberts & Roberts is partnering once again with the Tyler Car Service to provide residents of Tyler and Longview with free rides home from Monday, December 7, 2020, through Thursday, January 1, 2021.
Due to COVID-19 concerns, the law firm’s managing partner, Randell “Randy” C. Roberts, emphasized that the Tyler Car Service’s drivers have their body temperature checked when they report for duty, wear a mask, and disinfect their cars after each passenger disembarks. Moreover, all of the Tyler Car Service vehicles are deep cleaned at least once daily.
Randy Roberts started “The Ride is on Us” campaign more than 15 years ago in Tyler to prevent drunk driving accidents during the holiday season. His son and law partner, Justin C. Roberts, extended the campaign to serve residents of Longview and to run for a longer period during the holiday season. Justin Roberts encourages the community to use this free service, noting that, “If you need it, the ride is on us, so please use this service so people don’t need to use ours.”
Roberts & Roberts has sponsored community safety campaigns over the last 25 years, including campaigns encouraging the use of infant car seats, seatbelts for older children and adults, and designated drivers for those who consume alcohol.
