New website designed for vintage clothing and accessory lovers If you’ve ever been frustrated searching for the perfect strand of vintage pearls or a Gunne Sax dress from the 70s, look no further – Garb of Ages is here.
I’m a child of the 70s, so it’s no surprise I’ve always had a fondness for retro clothing. Retro, second-hand, or vintage – they don’t make clothing like they used to – or shoes, jewellery, and hats. I don’t bu all vintage clothing. I shop at the usual suspects like Macy’s and Forever 21, but I think vintage stuff is edgy and original. I like to pair vintage pieces with my new clothing.
Other online sites (you know the ones I’m referring to) have fallen short for me. For years, I’ve had to do deep-dives on websites looking for specific vintage clothing. In some cases, I’ve been lucky, but most of the time I just spent hours searching, not finding what I wanted. That’s why I decided to create a website dedicated to all vintage (from the Victorian era through the 1990s) clothing and accessories for both buyers and sellers.
A few fast facts about vintage clothing*:
• In 2009 UK consumers disposed of more than two metric tons of modern clothing that had only been worn around six times. The vintage trend has been growing in popularity.
• Celebrities such as Renee Zellweger and Reese Witherspoon have encouraged the move towards vintage fashion by wearing vintage attire to red-carpet events.
