These Health Issues Bark Worse Than They Bite
There are certain health issues that cause immense pain or discomfort. They can also lead to you developing symptoms that are frightening or worrying. You’re not alone if you panic when you notice changes to your body. But the good news is that most of these health issues look and feel a lot worse than they actually are. Here are some key examples to keep in mind.
Herpes
Herpes is widely misunderstood. While it can be spread by sex, it is true to say that a cold sore is a form of herpes. Nearly one billion people have the herpes virus that causes cold sores and that can spread down to the lower regions. So, getting herpes doesn’t necessarily mean that you have been promiscuous or had unsafe sex. It could just mean that you have kissed the wrong person. That said if you do get herpes, you’ll definitely feel it. The pain of those lumps and bumps can be excruciating and cause immense discomfort. When you visit a doctor, they’ll provide some cream that will fix it up in no time.
Back Pain
Perhaps one of the worst and most frightening injuries is if you damage your back. We have all certainly heard the horror stories about people who damaged their back and were never able to recover. Back pain can be so excruciatingly painful, you might think that you need to contact the emergency services. However, this is typically not necessary. Back pain feels terrible but will usually heal without any support in about two weeks. Particularly, if you only threw your back out bending over or completing a similar action. In rare cases, back pain can be more severe but this will usually be the result of a serious accident.
Whiplash
If you have ever been rear-ended driving, then you will know exactly what whiplash feels like. It’s caused when your neck and head jolt backwards resulting in what is basically a nasty sprain. However, this feels a lot worse and can be excruciatingly painful. Many people are often worried that they have severely damaged their neck and are concerned the pain won’t go away. The good news is that treating whiplash is easier than most people realise. Once you treat the issue the pain quickly subsides and your body will return to normal once more. However, you should always get checked over thoroughly if you are involved in a car accident.
Headaches
Headaches can be terrible. Some people have headaches that are so severe that they actually see what looks like broken glass in front of their eyes when they are experiencing one. If you have this issue, then you’ll know what we’re talking about. Anything can cause a headache from stress to not drinking enough water through the day. However, usually, a headache won’t be a sign of anything serious. Instead, it will pass quite quickly. You only need to worry about headaches if you start to get sudden and unexplained headaches that are incredibly severe.
