The formula for the perfect girls night out has been found

Pre-drinks at 6:41pm, hitting the bar at 8:34pm and exchanging four bits of gossip make up the perfect girls’ night out – a study found.
Researchers who polled 2,000 women found the night begins with just over an hour getting ready to party with four friends while enjoying a few glasses of wine.

As the evening gets well underway, a couple of hours of chat later and it’s time to hit the bars at 8:34pm – not forgetting to indulge in a couple of slices of pizza during the evening.

As well as swapping gossip women expect to have two conversations with men and three with random strangers.

Gary Conway, co-founder of Skinny Brands, which commissioned the research, said: “There’s nothing better than catching up with friends, sharing life stories and dancing through the night.

“It’s interesting to see how a night out for women pans out with some cocktails, glasses of wine, dancing and a good old chit chat and catch up with friends.

“We know our low calorie cocktails are often the first drink of the night, but we wanted to know what else was important, once the night out got under way.”

Once at the bar the cocktail orders come pouring through, with mojitos being the most popular choice followed by Sex on the Beach.

Daiquiris came in close third, trailed by cosmos and pornstar martinis.

The research also found the topics of conversation should cover current relationships, upcoming life events such as weddings and birthdays and, to top it off, reminiscing over old memories.

Then it’s time to move to the club at 10:55pm, with plenty of opportunity for dancing accompanied by spirits and mixers.

As well as enjoying two straight shots, the perfect night also includes five trips to the toilet with pals, having danced away to 35 songs.

The study found the chart-toppers which women most enjoy are Mr Brightside by the Killers, followed by Happy by Pharrell Williams and I gotta feeing by The Black Eyed Peas.

Taylor Swift narrowly missed the top three with Shake it off, and completing the top five was Heart of glass by Blondie.

Finishing the perfect night with a portion of chips from the local takeaway and getting in at 1:25am.

The research, conducted via OnePoll.com, also found four in ten women would rather a night out with the girls than a night with their partner, with one third confessing it’s because it’s more fun.

Others said it’s because they enjoy catching up with friends, with just over one quarter agreeing it’s a great way to relive stress.

Of the singletons enjoying a night out with the girls, many will use it as an opportunity to go on the ‘hunt’ for a potential partner.

And over half of women agreed they enjoy a girls’ night out as a chance for a good gossip.

Gary Conway added: “This research has confirmed what we are hearing from customers, that cocktails, dancing and a good chat are key parts of a great girls’ night out.”
